T2




T1 is the German designation for the first generation of bus, the one with the split screen. The second generation was introduced in 1968 and had a single curved front screen. These are known as T2, or 'Bay Window buses'.



The Book

Our adventures in a T1 bus have been collected and published under the title Welcome to the Crumple Zone, drifting through Europe and a mid-life course correction in a VW Microbus, comprising 149 pages, 23 chapters, an epilogue, and a foreword by William Wharton, in paperback; ISBN: 1843941805. The first print edition sold out and is no longer available.

3 May 2014: The book is available from Amazon in Kindle format. The Kindle (epub) edition contains one additional chapter, plus photographs, not issued in the first print edition.
